Great book. It got me up to speed on OO technology. It uses Java for code examples. I can recommend this book if you're new to OO.

Great book! Deals with advanced topics on PHP4. My friend Martin Geisler (Gimpster) has written a chapter in this book, so hurry up, go buy it :-)
C# Unleashed, Sams Publishing
Great book that get's you up to speed with the C# language. Some subjects aren't covered extensively (eg. ASP.NET and winforms), but can be used as a quick starter.

Applied Microsoft .NET Framework Programming, Microsoft Press
Explains all the nifty gritty details of the .NET Framework including Assemblies, the CLR (Common Language Runtime) and other subjects. Highly recommended book!
